What is JeepSpeed?
The ATK/Gearhead JeepSpeed Racing Series has been designed to give Jeep enthusiasts the opportunity to take their daily driver and race it among other enthusiasts. The JeepSpeed Series is split into two divisions: the Challenge and the Cup.
The Rubicon Express JeepSpeed Challenge is open to Jeep Cherokee XJ models produced from 1984 through 2001 with a stock wheel base +/- 2" = 103.4", Wrangler TJ max wheelbase 103.4", Wrangler JK 2 door stock wheelbase 95.74" +/- 2"= 97.4", Grand Cherokee ZJ and WJ 105.9". Any option combination (2-door, 4-door, 2-wheel-drive, 4-wheel-drive, 4-cylinder, V6, inline 6, manual transmission, automatic transmission, etc.) is acceptable, as long as it was available in the United States from the manufacturer in that configuration.
The Currie Enterprises Cup Race is open to Jeep Utility Vehicles. Any option combination (2-door, 4-door, 2-wheel-drive, 4-wheel-drive, 4-cylinder, V6, inline 6, V8, manual transmission, automatic transmission, etc.) is acceptable, as long as it was available in the United States from the manufacturer. The only limit is that the 8 cylinder engines cannot be dry sump.
When is JeepSpeed?
The racing season consists of 5 Challenge/Cup events with 2 bonus events and runs from January through November. The 2008 Schedule is:
Feb. 1st, 2nd, ............Blue Water Resort and Casino Parker 425, Parker, Az. Sanctioned by Best in the Desert (BITD)...televised.
March 28th and 29th.... Mint 400, Jean, Nv. sanctioned by Southern Nevada Offroad Ent. (SNORE) Non points race.
April 18th, 19th, ..........Primm Terrible Town 250, Stateline, Nv...... BITD....televised.
July 19th......................Freedom Night Race, Barstow, Ca. Sanctioned by Mojave Off Road Enthusiasts (MORE)
Sept 12th. 13th ...........Johnson Valley Race, Lucerne, Ca........ MORE.
Oct. 10th 11th.............The MORE Powder Puff Ladies Race. Barstow, Ca. Non points race
Dec 5th. 6th................Henderson Terrible 400, Henderson, Nv......BITD....televised.
